Mint Chicks Japan Snowboarding Trip 2015

Thanks to my deadly cool friends at Mint Tours we have just had the most epic 2 weeks in Akakura Onsen, Myoko Japan.

I got to share my love of snowboarding with seven ladies that traveled different parts of the globe to come and shred the famous Japanese Powder Snow.

We were blessed with amazing snow conditions with a variety of fresh powder snow, bluebird days and fabulous groomers to lay down some carves!

After riding all day we did Pilates to stretch out the muscles, took long Onsen ( Japanese natural hot spring ) and enjoyed delicious meals at the variety of authentic restaurants in the villiage! Some enjoyed the hilarious night life too! Sake – say no more!

Myoko is a true Japanese Ski Town. It’s roots go back to 1937, and the opening of Akakura Kanko Hotel’s Ski runs – and back more than 200 years for the Onsen hot springs that are still a major attraction for us tourists!

With up to 19 metres of snow each season it’s a powder fiend’s dream come true!

Mint Chicks is an all girls camp under the humble umbrella of Mint Tours, we have been running camps in New Zealand and Japan for over four years now! Being in an all girls learning environment is the perfect opportunity to progress your existing skills, we combine aspects of Pilates and years of snow riding to help you become more confident!

Japan has left a real impression on me and I am looking forward to return!
