SPORT NZ Conference

Recently I was invited to be on a panel for the 2015 Sport NZ conference! My friend Holly Thorpe is a senior lecturer at the University of Waikato and studies teaches and researches Action Sports, Women in Action Sports and numerous more interesting topics…………..

I was invited to share my passion & involvement with Surfing & Snowboarding. Also how Wahine on Waves came about and to support Holly’s research as to how we can grow these sports in NZ. We really wanted to highlight to Sport NZ that currently we are not really getting much support compared with more traditional sports like Rugby and Netball etc. Action Sports are in a growing trend Internationally & in New Zealand! It is really awesome to be a part of change and I am feeling positive that we can encourage more girls to be in nature & experience surfing and snowboarding! This is only just the start for Wahine on Waves…..
