Surf Coach

Share my love of board sports

I began surfing in my mid twenties, my best mate supported me to paddle out the back and showed me how to surf!

I tapped into a girl crew and they always had me under their wing, telling me to paddle when the big sets came, guiding me to take the drop and hooting when the ride was a success!

Surfing saved me at a time in my life where I was transitioning from a life of snow to a life without! It was my happy place, a place to challenge my competitive nature and to expend my physical energy!

The ocean has taught me so much and I am forever grateful to my bestmate that led me to the surf that fine day!

Wahine on Waves was started in 2010 out of passion to share my love of board sports and the great out doors! I believe everyone should have the opportunity to try whatever their hearts desire at any age! Sometimes we have limiting beliefs that inhibit our experiences, Wahine on Waves is my way to welcome and Wahine (Girl) of any ability to enjoy the ocean or mountain environment, meet like minded others and improve surfing ability, or snowboard – ability!

Since having my Son Tully in 2017 I have been focusing on him & family, surfing for myself and growing my Pilates business, as well as a Kite Surfing School with my partner Aaron. I have also been enjoying my Surf Mum Crew, we meet two times a week to share the stoke while the kids play on the beach, it is awesome.

Wahine on Waves has taken a nap for a while. I have still been assisting fellow Wahine to mentor other ladies and start up various sessions for women. There is also some exciting things in the pipeline for NZ. Locally in Byron Bay we are working with Future Dreamers in summer.

Keep in touch for events, programs, camps as we collaborate with other likeminded magical people to make this happen! Please check out our socials for upcoming events!
