Teen Spirit Workshop
Recently on the GOLD COAST I was very privileged to be invited to teach Pilates at the launch of Teen Spirit Workshops, my fellow kiwi entrepreneur dear friend Ant has started these amazing initiatives to guide and support teenagers to feel comfortable and assist them to grow into confident, beautiful young women! The majority of girls were aged 14 years.
Lets face it, I remember signing up to HOTMAIL when I was on a summer working holiday in Lago’s Portugal.
So literally when I ventured off on my global travels I started with postcards and old school phone box phone calls, there was none of this cell phone S6 plus malarky or this Facebook 1000 plus friends, let alone the ‘Gram’ ( instagram ).
Kids these days are brought up in a storm of social media, potentially causing unnecessary disrespect and lack of self respect within themselves and others.
Although this age of internet has opened us up to a world of opportunity, for some it can be a long road to find a place of gratitude and self acceptance. There are so many pressures placed upon us humans, this is our way of helping our future generations of young women ( wahine ).

Yoga and meditation to finish.
We had 20 girls attending and each girl had a wonderful experience, all highlighting different positive aspects from the day. E.g Exercise is Fun, how to create positive boundries for themselves, some of them made new friends and enjoyed trying something new!
